Social Studies
We have four units we explore throughout the year. These four units explore our community and ourselves within our community and the world.
Unit 1: Our School Community
Students will examine the relationship between family, school, and community.
Unit 2: Identity - Who Am I?
Students will explore the concept of self and will begin to examine their place in the context of larger groups.
Unit 3: Our Community Needs
Students will be introduced to basic economic principles through examination of the difference between needs and wants in a community.
Unit 4: Exploring Our World
Students will begin to investigate the world around them and will begin examining how location and climate affect how people and animals live.
During the school year, specific projects may go home relating to one of these units to be completed. More information to follow.
